At the Final Cut Pro User Group Meeting of Hong Kong ,  I introduced the Red One camera to the members. It was welcomed by the big number of members and many questions were asked on the operations of the camera, I just shared what I had experience during the two films I shot with Ringo's camera. We used a broadcast HD monitor and I started by showing off the Red camera test patterns and then the different ways of metering available, they were all interested in this new way of capturing moving image.

I used the Red one camera for a commercial, the whole commercial was shot at high speed  2K.
My focus puller used the laser rangefinder to check focus before taking a shot here. Instant playback created numerous laughter in the studio. The camera performed very well with no problems at all.

The short film that I had shot with Red was finished in editing and so I went on to try to correct the color using the famous software Color from Final Cut Studio 2, I found that was a very good experience and I was amazed at the quality that can be achieved with this software, I was using the 32 bit floating point in the color correction and enhancement.

The set up was a Mac Pro 8-core   2.8Ghz
with a Decklink HD extreme card and a Panasonic 17-in LCD monitor running with Final Cut Studio 2's Color.

I began shooting 3d movie for a theme park in Thailand. I used the new Panasonic AJ-HPX3000 with the Digi primes, it is an excellent set up. It gave me very rich tones with excellent resolution and minimum distortion.

Before the shooting , every lens were checked for back focus differences with Sharpmax for each camera.

The tri-level sync worked out  on the Panasonic AJ-HPX3000 perfectly.

Beijing was cold at -9 degrees in the evening and we are doing outside shots for a few MTVs.
I put down a cup of hot coffee on the dolly , turn around to do a shot, picking it up again to find it frozen, that is how cold it was. We used Sony F900 with Pro35 adaptor and Zeiss prime lenses on this one. My assistant was Lulu, a very keen learning one.

My new rig being used on Swan Lake on Ice, the reason to design this is allow movement more easily for light weight cameras. It goes really well and the Sachtler 9+9 head is enought to handle this rig which weighed 45 kg with two Canon XL H1 cameras and accessories.

I also brought two of my simple 3-d monitors to Singapore to monitor the 3-d effects during the shoot.
